Syrian Democratic Forces and Syrian government delegates met in Hasakah to discuss implementation of the landmark March 10 agreement between Mazloum Abdi and Ahmed Sher. The names of representatives who will represent Kurdistan’s Rojava region in Damascus have also been announced.
Representatives from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government convened today in Hasakah city to discuss the implementation of the March 10 agreement signed between SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi and Syrian President Ahmed Sher. Simultaneously, the names of representatives who will represent northern and eastern Syria in Damascus have been revealed.
Meeting in Hasakah
SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi and SDF General Command member Rohilat Afrin received Hussein Salama, the head of the government committee tasked with completing the March 10 agreement, and committee member Muhammad Qanatiri in Hasakah.
The SDF issued a statement regarding the meeting. According to the statement, the implementation of the agreement provisions, reduction of tensions, cessation of war and conflicts in Syria, and protecting the Tishreen Dam from military attacks were discussed during the meeting.
Rojava Representatives
According to the SDF statement, the representatives who will represent the northern and eastern regions of Syria in Damascus are:
- Fawza Yousif
- Abid Hamid Mihbash
- Ahmed Yousif
- Sanharib Barsoum
- Sozdar Haji
Additionally, Maryam Ibrahim and Yasir Suleiman will serve as the committee’s spokespersons.
The March 10 Agreement
The March 10 agreement was signed between SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi and Syria’s Interim President Ahmed Sher in Damascus, the capital of Syria. This agreement consists of 8 points:
- Guaranteeing the right of all Syrians to representation and participation in the political process and in all state institutions according to expertise, regardless of their religious and ethnic affiliations.
- The Kurdish community is recognized as an indigenous community in the Syrian state, and the Syrian state guarantees their citizenship rights and all their constitutional rights.
- A ceasefire throughout Syrian territory.
- Integration of all civil and military institutions in northeastern Syria within the framework of the Syrian state administration, including border crossings, airports, oil and gas fields.
- Guaranteeing the return of all Syrian refugees to their villages and cities and their protection by the state.
- Syrian state support in confronting the remnants of Assad’s regime and all threats to its security and territorial integrity.
- Rejection of partition demands, hostile attitudes, and attempts to create discord between the components of Syrian society.
- Administrative committees will work and strive to implement the agreement in a manner that does not exceed the end of this year.
