The hacker group known as LUSWJXX systematically and persistently attempted to breach Botan Times’ firewall and infiltrate the system approximately 10,000 times on March 15.
According to Jeckpack digital security protocol logs, a total of 80,000 “unauthorized access attempts” were detected.
Last night at 22:30, one of our editor’s accounts was compromised, and the attackers gained access to Botan Times’ content management system. During the time it took to disable the affected account and reactivate security protocols, our content from the last three months was at risk of deletion.
Thanks to the quick intervention of our technical team, our entire archive was successfully recovered, except for content from the last two weeks.
While detailed information about the group in question is not available online, it was observed that this group, which targets Kurdish media organizations, was preparing to publish a Turkish text and had uploaded a draft text to the system for publication.
