Passed more than a month after the Kahramanmaras earthquakes, which affected 10 cities.

Adiyaman is one of the cities that was destroyed in the earthquake.

Sultan who is a nurse and originally from Adiyaman, says about her city, “We can neither return nor stay here.”

She has been working in the emergency department of Kahta Hospital in Adiyaman for many years.

She bought a house for her family after working for years, but the house collapsed on them during the night of the earthquake.

Sultan Nurse says that she and her family got out of the disaster by chance.

“I left my family to help the wounded”

Our life was upside down in a night. In that disaster, I left my family to help the injured people. But there was no hospital or rescue workers.

Sultan Nurse

“I can neither go elsewhere nor stay here”

During our conversation, she could not mention what she saw even though it has been a month since the earthquake.

She waited for a minute and started again. Her eyes were to fill with tears but she didn’t let to run down on her cheeks.

She thought for a while and said: What we say is lacking, what we say is unfinished

We found a house in Samsun. I sent my whole family there. They didn’t want to go there, but there isn’t a tent or house for staying here. I’m only here now. I have been in the hospital for a month. Day and night are the same for me. I can’t go, I can’t stay. I don’t want to leave my city, but I don’t know what I will do…

Sultan

Sultan Nurse is trying to get a container to stay in her city for helping people.

She has submitted many authorities, but until now there isn’t any response.

It is important to remember that the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, said a few days ago in Adiyaman that there were some shortages and asked to receive their blessings.
